Stepping Proud: Graduation Shoes for the Ember Children
Jean

Graduation is a milestone that children work hard to reach, and every child deserves to walk into that special day feeling proud and confident. In March, the Ember Program celebrated the graduating children by providing them with new black shoes for their upcoming graduation. The shoes were more than something to wear—they were a way of helping each child feel prepared and proud as they stepped toward an important moment in their education.

With Mary Joy Olmstead taking part in the initiative, the children received their shoes with excitement and gratitude. For some families, purchasing new graduation shoes can be an additional expense during an already challenging time. By providing this simple but meaningful support, Ember hoped to ease that burden while giving the children something they could proudly wear on their special day.

Graduation represents years of effort, perseverance, and learning. Ember believes that every child deserves to celebrate that achievement with dignity. Through the Stepping Proud initiative, Ember hopes the children will remember not only the shoes they received, but also the encouragement and support that helped them take their next step forward.
