September became a little more special as the Ember Program gathered to celebrate the birthdays of two of its children. Each birthday child received a cake and had the chance to celebrate their special day surrounded by their fellow Ember kids. What might have been a simple birthday became a shared celebration filled with smiles, laughter, birthday songs, and the excitement of being surrounded by friends.
Mary Joy Olmstead joined the children in celebrating the two birthday honorees, helping make the occasion a warm and memorable one. Watching their friends come together to celebrate them gave the birthday children a chance to feel recognized and appreciated—not just for what they accomplish, but simply for who they are.
